DEVANY GREENWOOD

Devany Greenwood is an acclaimed French-American writer and director, based in Los Angeles. Her work is rooted primarily in poetics, exploring the feminine, and unraveling the many layers of trauma. Through the female gaze, she brings an inimitable tenderness and vulnerability to visual narratives across a range of genres, flourishing in the minutiae of silence and negative space. In 2021, she founded Cosmica Productions, with a focus on amplifying and empowering marginalized voices.

Her feature screenplay, Into the Thicket, is a unique blend of magical realism and coming-of-age drama, forging a visionary journey into female empowerment and a fearlessly nuanced exploration of sexuality. The script has garnered significant acclaim, scoring 9/10 on The Black List, and placing as Semi-Finalist in WeScreenplay’s Feature Screenwriting Competition (2022), and Quarter-Finalist in the Outstanding Screenplays Feature Competition (2021). 

In 2023, she completed a proof of concept for the feature, which premiered at the Oscar® and BAFTA-qualifying LA Shorts International Film Festival, and went on to receive multiple accolades at IndieX Film Festival, Waco Indie, Central Alberta Film Festival, and Picture's Up! Film Festival.

Alongside her work as a filmmaker, Devany brings a rigorous, hands-on background in specialty costumes and props. From 2019 to 2025, she worked at Global Effects as a wardrobe supervisor and project lead, overseeing fabrication for productions including For All Mankind (Apple TV+), Station Eleven (HBO Max), Constellation (Apple TV+), and Johan Renck’s Spaceman. She also led a NASA contract supporting the Artemis II close-out crew technician suits, collaborating closely with teams at Johnson Space Center and Kennedy Space Center across concept development, iterative design, prototyping, material procurement, and final approval—bringing together engineering, craft, and narrative function in a way that reflects her multidisciplinary sensibility.
